KNEADING CONFERENCE.

An annual gathering of farmers, bakers, millers, researchers, oven builders and others at the Skowhegan State Fairgrounds to explore the ways and means of reestablishing regional grain economies.

MAINE ARTISAN BREAD FAIR.

An annual celebration of grains and local bread at the Skowhegan State Fairgrounds, free and open to the public; over 60 vendors showcase artisan wares related to bread, baking, and traditional living.

RARE & HERITAGE SEED RESTORATION PROJECT.

A four-year project focused on re-building the supply of commercially available GMO-free, rare, and heritage variety grain seed adapted to a northeastern climate.

BAKING AND GRAIN EDUCATION WORKSHOPS.

Inspiring young and entrepreneurial bakers in our year-round baking education program at the research kitchen at the Somerset Grist Mill in Skowhegan and at other locations throughout Maine.

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE GRANTS.

A grant program for grain-based businesses that provides funds for technical assistance.  We aim to strengthen grain-based businesses throughout Maine and the US and their chances of success.
