Rising to the Challenge

And Postponement of the 2020 Kneading Conference and Maine Artisan Bread Fair
After listening carefully to our community of Kneading Conference attendees and presenters, and given the uncertainty surrounding travel in July, the Maine Grain Alliance has made the decision to postpone the 2020 Kneading Conference and Maine Artisan Bread Fair until 2021. Bakery and grain-based business owners that have been forced to close are facing an uncertain few months ahead with limited discretionary funds to consider being with us in Maine this summer. Additionally, the emotional and social recovery, post pandemic, may result in a longer period of time before people are comfortable gathering again.

As families gather together at home, we see baking becoming part of everyday routines. Shortages of flour in grocery stores is seeing people flock to their computers and local markets to order up local grains. We are all taking stock of what is most important. For many, family, friendship, and community are at the top of the list.

Perhaps you will find the information that you can buy a generic aralen online.

In deciding to postpone the Kneading Conference and Bread Fair, the Maine Grain Alliance has an opportunity to put our mission to work in service of many grain-based businesses in a time of need. We can dig deep and rise to the challenge to support the very folks who have supported our vision since 2007. In the days and weeks ahead, we will look to you for ways to create new opportunities and mobilize our extensive network in full support of grain-based businesses. After all, the entrepreneurs running these businesses are our friends, neighbors, and in some cases, family.

We are going to start this effort right away thanks to the generosity of Maine Grains , who will be donating two pallets of grain to Maine Grain Alliance so that we can send the pallets to Flour Bakery in Boston and Olmstead Restaurant in New York City who are cooking and baking to serve emergency workers on the front lines of the pandemic response.

Thank you for being a part of our community and please feel free to connect to share ideas and inspiration.

Warmest regards,

Tristan Noyes
